Regulation-Focused Early Intervention for Children, Families and Communities
We step in early - before challenge escalates

Early Intervention Support for Children and Families
Family Mental Fitness North East is a VCSE community partner delivering regulation-focused early intervention and wellbeing programmes across Newcastle and the North East.
We work alongside schools, services and community organisations to support emerging emotional, engagement and family needs before they escalate into more complex challenges.
Our programmes support children, young people and families through structured, relational and community-based approaches aligned with the Section 1 and Section 2 (Family Help) safeguarding framework.
What We Do
When life feels overwhelming, families do not need more waiting lists, they need the right support at the right time.
We provide early intervention and wellbeing support for:
Our work helps children, young people and families feel safer, calmer and more able to engage with learning, relationships and everyday life.
Early Support That Prevents Escalation
Many children and families experience growing emotional, behavioural or engagement difficulties without meeting the threshold for statutory services.
We help bridge that gap through accessible, community-based support designed to strengthen emotional regulation, confidence, connection and resilience before challenges become more entrenched.
Our work sits within the Section 1 and Section 2 (Family Help) safeguarding pathway, providing flexible early intervention that complements existing services and reduces the likelihood of escalation.
How Our Support Works
1: Community Access (Open Support)
Accessible wellbeing and regulation-focused support delivered through community sessions, workshops and early-help activities.
2: Targeted Early Intervention

Support is flexible and adapts to individual, family and community need.
