Early Intervention Support for Children and Families
Family Mental Fitness North East is a VCSE community partner delivering early intervention support, working alongside schools and services to address emerging emotional, engagement and family needs before they become more complex.
We support children, young people and families across the North East through targeted programmes and accessible community sessions, aligned with the Section 1 and Section 2 (Family Help) safeguarding framework.
We step in early - before challenges become more complex.
What We Do
When life feels overwhelming, families don’t need more waiting, they need the right support at the right time.
We provide early support to help with:
anxiety and emotional distress
dysregulation and emotional responses
school avoidance and disengagement
low confidence and withdrawal
family stress, routines and communication
Practical, relational support that helps children and families stabilise and move forward.
Early Support That Prevents Escalation
Many families do not meet the threshold for statutory services but still need support.
We bridge that gap through accessible, community-based early intervention, helping reduce escalation into more complex needs.
Our work sits within the Section 1 and Section 2 (Family Help) safeguarding framework, supporting children and families before the need for statutory intervention.
